Hello friends, family, and all fathers! May was the month for mothers and I hope you had the opportunity to celebrate with a mom. Nothing says “I love you mom” quite like a plate of fluffy pancakes, eggs, and crispy bacon so I took some of my favorite moms out for breakfast. May allows me to perform music at my gigs with a dedication to the moms in attendance. Last month I also enjoyed performing for Edmond’s music festival where I had the opportunity to play the national anthem on a Saturday morning, followed by some jazz grooves, and original music. One tune the audience responded to was written by Vearl Tolbert Sr. (my dad) and it’s called V Groove. It’s a fun and catchy song that my father wrote over 20 years ago however, we were able to release the music on my EP in 2015. It has recently become a song in rotation on internet radio!
As we move into June to celebrate our fathers, I’d like to offer this tune (V Groove) written by my talented “pops” and fellow lover of Groove.
