Hello, friends, family, and June jammers!

I’m thrilled to share some highlights from my recent adventures and the exciting moments I look forward to this June.

A Day of Notes and Knowledge

Last month, I had the fantastic opportunity to interact with some incredibly talented and enthusiastic students at a local middle school here in Oklahoma City. It was a day filled with music, learning, and laughter. I joined forces with some amazing educators, including the high school assistant band director, Mr. G on drums, and the middle school band instructor, Mr. Nguyen, on piano. Together, we created an impromptu band that delivered tunes from Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, and Michael Jackson. Dancing ensued, and the joy was palpable!

Throughout the day, I shared personal anecdotes (like the time my car met my saxophone case—ouch!), and some motivational tips I use to stay inspired—like surrounding myself with images of musicians and leaders who inspire me. The highlight was when a class performed (just for me) a tune they had been practicing. Their dedication reminded me of the profound connections and joy music brings into our lives, transcending age and background.
