Hello friends, family, and September birthday babies! Shout out to all the September birthday babies of which we share a month.

I recently played for EDMOND VIBES where families and community meet in downtown Edmond to hear great music, taste local food, and find talented local artists.

After I played a set and took a break, a gentleman I had never met who had been watching me perform came up to me with a big smile to show his appreciation for the music I was playing. He then said, “Do you know how I can tell you grew up playing in the church?” I looked at this stranger with a puzzled look and asked how he knew. He said “…because you play your music with gospel legs” and we both laughed. I guess I’ve been known to flail a foot here and there during a performance…watch out front row sitters! “Gospel legs” sounds like a great title to a song and possibly a music project. You heard about it here first.

Speaking of gospel, I’ve been fortunate to play some gospel shows lately. It certainly started in the church for me and I love playing gospel on what my Pastor in Tulsa would call the “Holy Sax”.
